Custom Mitzvah Ceremonies
A Bar, Bat, or B Mitzvah celebration is an amazing way to recognize the ways in which your child is becoming an adult. If you have never belonged to a synagogue, or are looking for a more individualized process to better suit your family, Cantor Shira creates beautiful and memorable ceremonies that honor your child, your family, and Jewish tradition. This is a time to allow this young person to shine and demonstrate both their individuality and a connection to tradition with the family and community that has supported them.
Cantor Shira has over 20 years of experience working with B'nai Mitzvah students, as a full service leader, Cantor, Hebrew and trope tutor, and event planner. She has worked extensively with students with special needs, dyslexia, and autism.
Cantor Shira creates individualized Mitzvah ceremonies for each student and supports families in creating wonderful and memorable events. They can be held in any venue of the family’s choosing, from private homes to large event spaces, or outdoors in decent weather.
Cantor Shira adapts the service to the needs of the student. Tutoring is done on Zoom, or locally in the Lower Mainland. Classes cover Hebrew, chanting Torah, Jewish values, and culture.
Cantor Shira creates custom prayerbooks for each family, that can be kept by guests as a keepsake from the event and provides the use of a beautiful Torah, written in Poland in the 1920s as well as an ark.
