Hamakom is a Beit Midrash (House of Learning), that aims to create a welcoming and anti-oppressive space for Jews and allies who would like to explore their relationship to culture and community. We are based out of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) territories - Vancouver, BC.

Hamakom is a Hebrew word, that in English means "the space." Our name guides us in the work of coordinating Jewish ritual and educational events that aim to cultivate a community that centers the voices and experiences of marginalized Jews.
